Be Ready Always

1 Peter 3:15: But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

2 Timothy 4:2: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Colossians 4:6: Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Psalms 31:15: My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

Job 14:5: Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;

Job 24:1: Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?

Psalms 69:13: But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.

Isaiah 49:8: Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

Galatians 4:4: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

When someone who is able to share the gospel encounters someone at the right time and the right place who needs to hear the gospel and is ready to respond to it who do you suppose arranged that? It cannot be you, you have no idea where the other person will be or when they will be there. The only One in the universe who could arrange that would be God Himself. Think about one word in the following passage, the word then.

Acts 4:8: Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

What happened then? Peter was filled with the Holy Ghost.

John 14:15: If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

The Holy Spirit is available to fill us 24 hours a day and seven days a week. The sin that I need to confess and be forgiven for more than any other is that I enter a store or shop somewhere and my gospel tracts are back in my car. Sometimes I go back to the car and get some but when I get back into the store the person that I encountered cannot be found. All I can do then is to pray for them. Praying for them is the most important thing I can do for them but how can I know that it was not God*s plan for me to give them a gospel tract or say something more to them then and there?
